Chelsea are expecting to receive a flurry of bids for goalkeeper Petr Cech, report the Mail, if the Czech Republic international loses the battle with Thibaut Courtois to be the Blues’ number one stopper when Jose Mourinho picks his side for the opening game of the season against newly promoted Burnley.
Mourinho has remained tight lipped over which of the two is likely to start at Turf Moor on Monday evening, although Courtois seems to be the favourite having played 90 minutes during the Blues’ final pre-season friendly, against Real Sociedad, this week.
The report suggests that Real Madrid, AS Monaco and Paris Saint Germain are all monitoring Cech’s situation, however, and may launch bids if the long-serving Chelsea ‘keeper does find himself on the bench come Monday evening.
Courtois, meanwhile, has reportedly been warned that his position as Belgian first choice goalkeeper could be under threat if he is not getting regular football at Stamford Bridge.
