Blues lead chase for Hamburg attacker.
Chelsea are interested in signing highly-rated Hamburg striker Heung-Min Son at the end of this season, reports the Metro.
The South Korea international is enjoying his best-ever campaign for the Bundesliga giants, having scored an impressive nine goals in just 21 matches for the club, however, it is understood that he is keen to leave Hamburg come the summer.
And, despite a whole host of big-name Premier League clubs also reportedly said to be interested in the centre forward, including the likes of Liverpool, Manchester United, Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur, it is understood that Chelsea are the favourites to land the player.
This is because Hamburg’s Director of Football is Frank Arnesen, who used to occupy the same role in west London, with the Dane having kept up close relations with Chelsea since he departed Stamford Bridge.
Hamburg are said to value Heung-Min Son at £10 million, however, with the boost in support in Asia that signing the attacker will give the Blues, the transfer would in effect provide the club with an increase in finances via added merchandising.
