Chelsea line up £22m bid for exciting Spanish international star
The England international’s situation has gone under the radar recently because of the highly publicised stand off between Raheem Sterling and the Merseyside club. The younger star has already turned down a £100,000 deal according to the report.
However, the Reds are also in danger of losing their current vice-captain, whose contract runs out at the end of next season. With Luis Suarez having left the club last summer and Steven Gerrard departing at the end of this campaign, it would be a major blow to also lose the 24-year-old.
The Star believes that Chelsea are keeping tabs on the situation, with an offer possibly forthcoming should the negotiations continue to go on without an end in sight. Whether Henderson would improve a team that already has Cesc Fabregas and Nemanja Matic is debatable.
