The Blues have been linked with a move for the Ghana international in recent weeks as a potential replacement for Felipe Luis, who is understood to be targeted by former club Atletico Madrid.
According to the London Evening Standard, Rahman is interested in making a move to a club competing in the Champions League, but Chelsea will face stiff competition in the chase for the player.
Arsenal and Manchester City are also believed to be interested in the 20-year-old, and the report suggests Augsburg will allow Rahman to leave the club if a bid of £14.2m is forthcoming.
Rahman will undoubtedly head to Chelsea as the initial second-choice left back due to Cesar Azpilicueta’s strong form during the Blues’ title-winning season.
Serie A giants Juventus are also interested in Rahman, London Evening Standard reports.
