Chelsea are worried that Diego Costa’s hamstring injury is much worse than first thought and could see him on the sidelines for an ‘extended period’, according to CaughtOffside.

The Spanish international was forced off after only 11 minutes of the side’s 2-1 victory over Stoke at the weekend and he was taken for scans on Monday, the results of which are now being assessed.
Costa has struggled with a number of persistent injuries all season, with question marks hanging over the true nature of his fitness for weeks.
However, a source close to the former Atletico Madrid man has said that the diagnosis is “worse than before.”
Manager Jose Mourinho had said that Costa would be out for a fortnight, and will now miss this weekend’s clash against west London rivals Queens Park Rangers, and will now be in a race against the clock to be fit for a potential title decider against Arsenal on April 26.
