The Italian outfit and Salah’s representatives met on Wednesday to try to reach a deal, but those discussions proved unsuccessful in terms of reaching an immediate agreement.
Instead, the club are believed to have given him the deadline to make a decision over whether he stays or goes, as he has the power to veto their decision to keep him on loan for another season.
It is reported that the Viola would look to offer him a four or five year deal with a €60m release clause, while it is also suggested that they will complete his mandatory signing of €18m from Chelsea, Football Italia notes.
The 23-year-old scored six goals in 16 league appearances after arriving in Florence mid-way through last season, and it is widely acknowledged that he is unlikely to return to Stamford Bridge given that he struggled after securing a move from FC Basel.
The Egyptian international has impressed since joining Fiorentina aside from his goals, and despite interest from Inter and Juventus, it is believed that he will choose the Viola and stay at the Artemio Franchi.
