Chelsea could be about to send Gael Kakuta out on loan for the seconde season running after Lille expressed an interest in bringing him to France, reports the Daily Mail.
The 20-year-old spent the second half of last campaign on loan at Fulham where he showed glimpses of his undoubted talent but with Chelsea having an array of attacking players at their disposal, the chances of first team action at Stamford Bridge are slim. Manager Andre Villas-Boas already has Fernando Torres, Nicolas Anelka, Didier Drogba, Salamon Kalou, Daniel Sturridge and Florent Malouda to consider while Romelu Lukaku will be unveiled as a matter of days and Kakuta would be better served by continuing his development elsewhere.
Lille seem to be the likeliest destination with the Ligue 1 champions admirers of the player.
Kakuta has already had an eventful career despite his tender years. He was at the middle of a legal dispute between Chelsea and RC Lens over the manner of his acquisition by the London club and had to serve a suspension through no fault of his own. The English club were subsequently exonerated but the feeling persists that the interruption in his football education could have affected his prospects.
