Big Sam hopes £8m will be enough to convince Chelsea to part with former Newcastle United star.
West Ham United are planning to re-sign Senegal forward Demba Ba from Chelsea this summer, according to The Sun.
Ba scored seven goals in 12 Premier League appearances for the Hammers during a six-month spell at Upton Park in 2011.
The 28-year-old left the East London club to join Newcastle United and he netted 29 times for the Magpies, before becoming a Chelsea player in a £7m move in January 2013.
Ba has scored just 14 goals in 51 games for the Blues, although he has bagged five in his last 10 outings.
Manager Jose Mourinho is widely expected to sign Atletico Madrid frontman Diego Costa this summer, and the Spain international’s arrival is likely to coincide with Ba heading out of Stamford Bridge.
The Sun claim that Hammers boss Sam Allardyce hopes to land Ba with a bid in the region of £8m.
Midfielder Kevin Nolan has been West Ham’s top goalscorer in the Premier League this season with seven.
