The Blues are seemingly interested in improving their options in that area, despite already having Cesar Azpilicueta and Filipe Luis to choose from on the left-hand side of their defence.
Luis has perhaps failed to convince manager Jose Mourinho this season with some below-par displays since he joined the club from Atletico Madrid last summer, with Cresswell now in line to replace him as a squad option at Stamford Bridge, according to the Daily Mail.
The 25-year-old has caught the eye in his first season in the Premier League, doing well to make the step up from Championship level, where he’d impressed with Ipswich Town prior to his move to Upton Park.
It is also suggested that the Hammers could raid Ipswich again this summer in search of Cresswell’s replacement, with youngster Tyrone Mings in their sights at left-back.
