Chelsea transfer news
The Blues have been keeping a close watch on the young Spanish international for some time now, and reports in his native land are now claiming that Jose Mourinho is gearing up to make a summer move for his signature.
Barca had been lining him up for a January switch when their transfer embargo is finally lifted, but the reports say that Luis Enrique has ditched plans to sign him, leaving Chelsea as frontrunners to snap him up over the summer.
However, they will still have to convince Atletico to part with the 23-year-old, who has been so key to their success over the past three years.
But Chelsea will make an enormous offer in the region of £44m in a bid to get the deal on track.
