Ibrahimovic has been linked with a move to the Premier League, and the Blues face a stiff competition for the Swede’s signature with Arsenal and Liverpool also reportedly interested.
According to Metro, Chelsea bosses have met with Ibrahimovic’s agent in Berlin and held talks over the former Barcelona man’s future.
It is understood Ibrahimovic is keen to once again link up with Jose Mourinho and will make the move if Chelsea offer a £7m-a-year deal.
Metro’s report suggests he is willing to take a major pay-cut to join the Blues, but only if he is offered a long-term deal.
Despite his advancing years, Ibrahimovic would certainly bolster Mourinho’s attacking options next season following the departure of Didier Drogba, but it would be interesting to see just how the Blues boss would fit the 33-year-old into his side due to the presence of Diego Costa.
Costa was brilliant for Chelsea this season, but Ibrahimovic’s goalscoring record is quite simply difficult to ignore.
