Chelsea and AS Roma have held talks over a possible swap deal involving strikers Fernando Torres and Mattia Destro, according to the Times.
The Blues have been in the market for new signings upfront for much of this summer, with Jose Mourinho also keen to offload a number of his unwanted players in that position, having already seen the likes of Romelu Lukaku and Demba Ba leave Stamford Bridge.
Torres is next on his agenda after the Spaniard’s highly disappointing time at Chelsea since hsi £50m move from Liverpool in 2011, and he may now move on loan to Roma to help the club land Destro.
The Italian forward impressed a great deal last season and has been linked with several top clubs this summer, though Chelsea now look the favourites to snap him up.
