Chelsea are desperate to sign former Arsenal captain, and hope an extraordinary wage package will entice him to Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea are preparing a bumper deal worth £200,000 per week for one of their prime transfer targets in Cesc Fabregas in a bid to lure him to Stamford Bridge, reports the Metro.
The Blues are keen on landing the former Arsenal man, who is reportedly being allowed to leave Barcelona this summer, but Jose Mourinho faces competition from several quarters for his signature.
The likes of Manchester United and Arsenal are also said to be interested in signing the 27-year old, with the Red Devils previously thought to be in the driver’s seat, but the Gunners have a first refusal option for their former skipper.
Chelsea meanwhile believe that their immense cash-reserves could help them beat all competition to sign one of the finest playmakers in Europe.
Fabregas’ success in the Premier League with Arsenal has prompted Chelsea to go after his signature as Mourinho needs more creativity in his midfield.
