It’s no secret that many people at Stamford Bridge want defender Filipe Luis gone, but Chelsea may have found a suitable replacement in 20-year-old Abdul Baba Rahman.
According to the Daily Mail, Chelsea is in the hunt for the £15 million-rated defender and the Augsburg Fc defender appears to have mutual interest in joining the club. Rahman is one of the best young defenders in Bundesliga and has also received interest from Man City, Man United and Real Madrid. The Metro reported that the Blues have already made a bid for Rahman’s services, but it was also reported that Arsenal are talking to Rahman’s agent as well.
Chelsea, however, may have a more pressing need for Rahman, given that they are reportedly looking to unload defender Filipe Luis, who has fallen out of favor with Jose Mourinho and was considered one of the biggest flops of the 2014-15 transfer window.
After four sensational seasons with Atletico Madrid, Luis was signed by £15.8 million on a three-year deal, but played in just 13 matches all season.
