Chelsea are currently in talks over the transfer of Cagliari star Godfred Donsah, according to reports.
The 19-year-old midfielder is highly rated by Serie A experts and is believed to have also attracted the interest of Italian giants Juventus.
According to Metro, Arsenal have also been heavily linked with a move for the Ghanaian, but Chelsea are believed to be in pole position to snare the youngster’s signature.
Cagliari president Tommaso Giulini confirmed his club have been in talks with the Premier League champions, however he made it clear he would rather see Donsah remain with the Rossoblu.
“We had a chat a few weeks ago with Chelsea,” Giulini is quoted as saying by Metro.
“But I am stunned by all these rumours around him. The lad needs to grow up with us.”
Cagliari will play in Italy’s second tier this season after the side were relegated from the Serie A last term, and Donsah is unlikely to be willing to ply his trade outside one of Europe’s top leagues.
The report suggests Donsah is valued at £4.2m.
