Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho is reportedly considering a shock move for Queens Park Rangers striker Charlie Austin.
The 25-year-old scored 18 Premier League goals in QPR’s relegation campaign and was rewarded with a debut England call-up for the games against the Republic of Ireland and Slovenia.
Austin only has one year left on his contract and is almost certain to leave Rangers, with Newcastle United and Southampton believed to be leading the chase for his signature, but the champions may yet enter the bidding.

The Daily Express claims that Mourinho wants the former bricklayer, who was playing non-league football with Poole Town six years ago, to replace outgoing hero Didier Drogba.
Drogba’s second departure from Stamford Bridge will leave Chelsea with just Diego Costa and Loic Remy as recognised forwards, and the latter has been strongly linked with a summer exit.
