Jose Mourinho wants to bring compatriot Bruma with him to Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea have made €15m (£12.8m) bid for Sporting Lisbon forward Bruma, according to Portuguese source A Bola.
Blues boss Jose Mourinho is said to have monitored the progress of his countryman for several months and recommended the 18-year-old to Real Madrid before his departure from the Bernabeu.
Bruma is currently on international duty with Portugual at the under-20 World Cup and has been on sensational form, bagging five goals in his first three matches.
Chelsea’s move reportedly comes after the west London club learned that rivals had been watching Bruma at the competition in Turkey.
His form has seen the teenager, who can play across the front-line, labelled the ‘next Cristiano Ronaldo’.
Bruma has just one-year remaining on his current deal with Sporting and the Primera Liga club are keen for the youngster to extend his contract to 2018.
The youngster is represented by Israeli super-agent Pini Zhavi, who is know to have close links to Blues owner Roman Abramovich and helped the Russian buy the Stamford Bridge club in 2003.
Manchester City and Man United have also been linked with Bruma.
