Manchester City could be dealt the blow of missing out on Liverpool winger Raheem Sterling to Chelsea, with the Blues reportedly making a £42m bid for the England starlet.
The 20-year-old is valued at around £50m by the Reds, but it may be that they will accept something a little lower as they could struggle to sell the troublesome forward for that price.
Chelsea have been linked with Sterling in the past and now seem to have revived their interest with this latest offer, which is slightly more than City’s most recent bid of £40m, which Liverpool turned down.
Sterling is undoubtedly one of the world’s best young players, and his situation at Anfield has even seen him linked with a move to arch rivals Manchester United.
