Blues lining-up deal for Partizan Belgrade star Lazar Markovic.
Chelsea are leading the chase for Partizan Belgrade teenager Lazar Markovic, according to the Daily Mirror.
The Serbian, now 19, made his international debut aged just 17 and is being tracked by a host of top European clubs.
But the Blues are currently at the front of the queue to sign the winger, with technical director Michael Emenalo said to admire Markovic.
New Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho is keen to push through a deal for the youngster, as he looks to reshape the squad he has inherited from Roberto Di Matteo and Rafa Benitez.
The Partizan playmaker already has six caps for Serbia and has scored 13 goals in 46 appearances for his club since making his debut in early 2011.
Markovic, who has also been linked with beaten Europa League finalists Benfica, admitted recently that he’d be keen on a move to England.
“A lot of people say that maybe I’m not suited to the English league,” he said.
“But I can tell you that I love the Premier League and I see it as an ideal stage for me.”
