Toby Alderweireld is believed to be optimistic of finalising a transfer to Tottenham Hotspur after he has finished celebrating his honeymoon.
The Atletico Madrid defender, who spent last season on loan at Southampton, is currently in Bali after getting married last Friday and expects his future to be resolved quickly upon his return.
The Saints retain an interest in buying him on a permanent basis, but Spurs are now at the head of the queue after Chelsea turned down a swap deal involving former Madrid favourite Filipe Luis.

The Telegraph claims that Tottenham are close to agreeing a fee with Atletico, and that the idea of partnering fellow Belgian and former Ajax teammate Jan Vertonghen appeals to Alderweireld.
The 24-year-old, who is capable of playing at centre-back, right-back and in holding midfield, would apparently complete Mauricio Pochettino’s summer improvements on his defence.
Spurs had the joint-fourth worst goals conceded record in the Premier League last season, despite finishing sixth, but have added Kieran Trippier and Kevin Wimmer to their ranks already.
