Chelsea are hopeful of re-signing Wolfsburg midfielder Kevin De Bruyne in a shock £30m deal, but will have to battle Premier League rivals Manchester United and Manchester City for the player, reports CaughtOffside.

Jose Mourinho has re-signed one of the club’s former players in the past – signing Nemanja Matic from Benfica – but unlike De Bruyne, the Serbian midfielder was not sold by the current Stamford Bridge boss.
Wolfsburg sporting director Klaus Allofs, admitted a move was possible, saying: “Kevin is still tied to 2019. But if a player develops extraordinary, it may be that we sit down together and see the conditions.”
