Lukaku, 20, is currently enjoying a season-long loan at Everton from Chelsea but the striker is expected to return to Stamford Bridge in the summer.
His Belgium international teammate Hazard is currently the talk of the town after bagging a hat-trick against Newcastle at the weekend – taking his tally to 14 Premier League goals this season – and Lukaku believes his compatriot is going to get even better next term.
“Eden Hazard is fun and magic. He is an unpredictable player. I am sure that next year he will be at the level of Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo,” Lukaku told Tribune RTBF.
After spending last season on loan at West Brom, Lukaku has not appeared competitively for the Blues since the 2011/12 season but the powerful forward says he is looking forward to improving his understanding with Hazard in West London.
“I think he already understands me well enough and it will get better the more we will play together. This year it is being confirmed. He is becoming a true leader in the locker room. In pre-season, he showed he was ready to become the star of the team. And he can also count on [Chelsea boss Jose] Mourinho. It’s good to have a great coach who helps guide you.”
