Blues ready to move into the race for Alvaro Arbeloa.
Chelsea are looking to end Liverpool’s hopes of bringing former Anfield favourite Alvaro Arbeloa back to Merseyside by making their own move for the Real Madrid star, report the Express, as Jose Mourinho looks to add depth to his squad during the January window.

Experienced Spanish international Arbeloa has lost his place in the Real Madrid first team to young full back Dani Carvajal over the past 12 months and is reportedly keen on a change of scenery and move back to the Premier League.
Liverpool were reported to be interested in signing Arbeloa as a replacement for Glen Johnson, who looks set to leave at the end of the season, but Chelsea could now end their hopes by signing Arbeloa as cover for Branislav Ivanovic.
