The 21-year-old played in 28 games last season and has now represented England at various youth levels as well as making his debut for the senior side under Roy Hodgson last year.
His form for the Toffees has attracted the attention of the Premier League champions, with Jose Mourinho looking for future options after John Terry decides to retire.
While the Terry partnership with Gary Cahill is certainly resulting in success for the Portuguese tactician, it won’t last forever and so the club has already started its search for their replacements.
However, it appears as though they will have to test the resolve of Everton who are keen to keep hold of Stones given the promise that he has shown so far.
Whether or not the versatile defender will be the subject of a new and improved bid remains to be seen, but Everton boss Roberto Martinez seemingly has a fight on his hands to keep hold of his one of his most prized assets.
