According to Telegraph Sport, Chelsea have made a £6m play for the Bosnia & Herzegovina international, with the news coming just hours after long-time Chelsea goalkeeper Cech confirmed his departure to the Gunners.
Stoke City are believed to have rejected the bid and are understood to be holding out for a bid close to their £8m valuation, however the Blues are expected to make a second bid within the next 48 hours.
It remains to be seen whether the 28-year-old would be willing to make the move to Stamford Bridge as he will likely play second fiddle to Chelsea number one Thibaut Courtois.
Begovic has proven himself to be a consistent performer since joining Stoke from Portsmouth in 2010 and is also believed to have interest from Manchester United with David de Gea set to leave Old Trafford.
