Recent statements from the agent of Thiago Silva indicate that the Paris Saint Germain superstar is inclined to rejoin Serie A.
According to talkSPORT, Silva’s agent Paulo Tonietto recently hinted that the 30-year-old Brazilian center back is more inclined to accept an offer from AC Milan (where Silva played from 2009 to 2012) than any other club – which would no doubt be a big blow for Chelsea and Man United.
But Tonietto indicated that Silva’s £35 million price tag is proving to be a major obstacle for clubs looking to sign his superstar client.
“One day Thiago could return to Milan, and he would like to, but at the moment there is not the slightest chance that he could change club,” Tonietto said. “At the moment he costs too much, he has a contract until 2018 (with Paris Saint-Germain) and a very high salary.
“(At the moment) Thiago Silva is doing very well at PSG and there’s no chance of him changing clubs, he’s too expensive for Milan.”
Silva has been absolutely phenomenal for Paris Saint-Germain since joining the club in 2012. The defensive stud has won Ligue 1 Team of the Year honors in each of his three seasons in France. In three seasons as PSG’s star defender, Silva has led the French outfit to three-straight Ligue 1 titles, a Coupe de France win this past year, back-to-back Coupe de la Ligue wins, and two Trophée des Champions wins.
