The Premier League giants have both been linked with a move for the Potters man, and it’s believed the Bosnia & Herzegovina international is keen for a move to a top four club.
According to The Daily Mail, Begovic has been named in Stoke’s 23-man squad for next week’s Barclays Asia Trophy, but the club were keen to note the squad was subject to change.
Chelsea are understood to have had a £6m offer for Begovic, but The Telegraph reports the Blues are lining up an £8m bid which will match the Potters’ valuation of the goalkeeper.
Jose Mourinho is looking for a replacement for Petr Cech after the long-serving Blues shot-stopper signed for Arsenal after dropping behind Thibaut Courtois in the pecking order at Stamford Bridge.
Manchester United have also been linked with Begovic as a potential replacement for David de Gea, with the 24-year-old likely to join La Liga giants Real Madrid.
