Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has continued the theme of trying to deflect pressure away from his side, report the Star, with the Portuguese manager insisting that the pressure is on other teams in the top four this season ahead of his side’s season opener at Burnley on Monday evening.
Mourinho also couldn’t resist taking a swipe at Arsenal and their manager Arsene Wenger, by making reference to the recent trophy drought on the other side of London:
“Pressure on me? Why? Some, they have ten years to win something, I have only two!”
Chelsea begin their season against Sean Dyche’s Burnley with fans expectant of an improvement on 2013/14, when Chelsea missed out on lifting a trophy, a rare blip in the club’s recent history.
Mourinho has been backed with the fans to bring in the likes of Diego Costa, Filipe Luis and Cesc Fabregas this summer, however, and will be expecting to life silverware this time around.
