Chelsea look likely to become one man lighter in the centre forward position, with striker Demba Ba set to join Besiktas on a loan deal according to reports from the Metro.
The Senegalese international has only been at Stamford Bridge for 18 months since arriving from Premier League rivals Newcastle United, but has become increasingly surplus to requirements under manager Jose Mourinho.
With the Blues having already secured the huge signing of striker Diego Costa from Atletico Madrid this summer, as well as young Belgian Romelu Lukaku returning to the club after a loan spell with Everton, Ba is arguably now the fourth choice striker at the club – with at least one more expected to arrive this summer.
The 29 year-old has enjoyed a varied career, with the French-born player having spent time at clubs as diverse as Rouen, Mouscron, Hoffenheim and West Ham United before his move to St. James’ Park.
Another new chapter now looks to be in the card, with Istanbul giants Besiktas keen on taking the player to the Turkish Super League as they look to keep pace with divisional giants Fenerbahce and Galatasaray.
Ba had been loosely linked with a return to Newcastle in recent days, but it now looks as though a move to Turkey is the most likely option for the player.
