The end of the summer’s biggest Premier League transfer saga appears to be in sight.
According to Sky Sports, Arsenal could sign Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech before the end of this week.
A transfer fee has yet to be agreed, say Sky, despite the Daily Star claiming on Monday that an £11m deal had been struck between the London rivals.
Chelsea captain John Terry told talkSPORT that Cech could be worth 12-15 points should he sign for Arsenal – a statement which will worry the Blues, considering they finished just 12 points ahead of the Gunners in the Premier League table last season.
Terry was quoted as saying: “Petr was an unbelievable professional last year. When you get left out of the team it can be hard to accept but, when he came in [to the side], he was exceptional.
“He deserves a lot of credit for that. We understand he wants to play first-team football but nobody wants to see him leave the club.
“He’s going to be sorely missed and will improve any side he goes to.”
Terry was not exaggerating.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger was torn between Wojciech Szczesny and David Ospina last season. Neither Gunners goalkeeper was particularly impressive.
Szczesny made two clumsy errors that cost goals in a 2-0 defeat to Southampton on New Year’s Day, including this stinker…
Ospina was also guilty of costly errors, such as this mistake, which gave Swansea City a 1-0 win at the Emirates Stadium…
Szczesny cost the Gunners more points with mishaps against Manchester United, Hull City and Everton, as well as in the away game at Swansea.
Meanwhile, Ospina also did a whoopsie against Hull, but Arsenal managed to win that particular game 3-1.
These examples are merely the most obvious balls-ups.
In addition to these, there were plenty of occasions where Cech would have made a confident catch or a defiant block, when instead Ospina flapped or Szczesny faltered.
Cech could easily be worth 15 points to Arsenal.
Chelsea must stop this move from happening. Otherwise, the may end up selling the Premier League title for just £11m.
