Diego Costa was forced into hospital with unknown illness after international duty

After representing Spain in the Euro 2016 qualifiers Costa returned to Stamford Bridge with a mystery stomach bug, reports the Telegraph.

The 26-year-old is also nursing a groin injury and this double-header has seen the striker miss the last two games for his club side.

This could go some way to explaining why manager Jose Mourinho was so angry when Costa returned from his time with the Spanish national team.
