The biggest stories on Thursday for the Blues.
Real Madrid’s Sami Khedira to be offered a pre-contract by Chelsea in January
The midfielder’s current deal at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu expires next summer and therefore Khedira is free to open talks with foreign clubs in the New Year.
As the London Evening Standard reports the Blues are ready to capitalise on this and beat Premier League rivals Arsenal and Manchester United to the 27-year-old’s signature.
Khedira is keen on a reunion with manager Jose Mourinho – who signed the Germany international from Stuttgart in 2010 – and that should swing things in favour of the Portuguese coach.
