Brazilian playmaker still wanted at Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich is refusing to give up on his quest to bring £35million Willian to Stamford Bridge despite the Brazilian star choosing to join Anzhi Makhachkala last month.
Willian was a key target for Chelsea in the January transfer window and was also wanted by Tottenham, but the Shaktar Donetsk playmaker instead moved to the big spending Russian side for £30million.
Ironically, he was allowed to leave Ukrainian side Shaktar Donetsk after they beat Chelsea to the signature of fellow Brazilian Taison.
According to the Sunday People, Chelsea failed to sign Willian because Shaktar are owned by Abramovich’s fellow oligarch Rinat Akhmetov and the Stamford Bridge supremo believes he will have more chance of getting his man from Anzhi.
He is ready to return with a £35million bid in the summer to bring 24-year-old Willian, who has yet to play for his new club due to the winter break, to the Premier League to add to the Brazilian contingent at Stamford Bridge which includes David Luiz, Oscar and Ramires.
