Jose Mourinho will snap up Eto’o as Rooney deal looks increasingly unlikely…
Chelsea have offered Anzhi Makhachkala striker Samuel Eto’o a £6m contract, according to Sky Italia journalist Gianluca Di Marzio.
Jose Mourinho wants to reunite with the 32-year-old forward he managed so successfully at Inter Milan, after being told by Manchester United that Wayne Rooney will not be leaving.
The Blues will pay nowhere near the reported £17m-a-year the striker earns in Russia, but Eto’o is keen to test himself in an elite league once more before he retires, and will accept the enormous pay cut.
Eto’o would compete with Fernando Torres, Romelu Lukaku and Demba Ba for the lone striker spot at Stamford Bridge.
Mou calls every day Eto’o to bring him to @chelseafc: offered 1 year contract at 6M +bonus. #Samuelfuture
