Chelsea to offer Ramires to Madrid in order to land Modric.
Luka Modric may not have had a dream debut season at Real Madrid under manager Jose Mourinho, but he seems to have certainly won over the Portuguese with his more recent performances.
Reports in the Daily Express have revealed that the Blues may make a move for the highly-rated Croat and may even consider utilising Ramires as a makeweight in the deal.
Los Blancos manager Carlo Ancelotti is himself understood to be an ardent admirer of the Brazilian, however, Modric is one player whom he may not be ready to part ways with, especially with the Croatia international being in top form.
It is also reported that while the West Londoners are ready to offer £10m along with Ramires to land the 28-year-old, the Spaniards have shown their intent to play hardball by asking for double the amount in cash.
With Mourinho reported to be becoming more and more interested in Modric, the Blues’ pursuit of Barcelona star Cesc Fabregas now seems to be becoming more of a contingency plan.
