Chelsea are on the verge of making another signing, as they have flown to Italy to seal a move for Cagliari midfielder Godfred Donsah.
According to the Daily Express, the Blues’ newest target is currently valued at £10m.
The 19-year-old midfielder scored two goals in 20 appearances for Cagliari last season, and he may be an ideal long-term solution in the centre of midfield for Chelsea.
Chelsea are currently experiencing what may be considered a championship hangover, as they still have yet to win a game in the 2015-16 season.
After a draw with Swansea City, Chelsea were demolished in a 3-0 loss to Manchester City.
Jose Mourinho is understood to be keen to bolster his squad before the end of the summer transfer window as he looks to get his side’s title defence back on track.
Chelsea may have luck with the Ghana international though if he can live up to his billing as the ‘new Michael Essien’.
Essien was the last Ghananian midfielder to have a successful career with the Blues after heling the club to two Premier League titles during his nine season stint at Stamford Bridge.
