Reports in the Telegraph confirm that Blues boss Jose Mourinho has stepped up his attempts to sign the £26m-rated Colombian, as he prepares to allow Salah and Schurrle to leave Stamford Bridge before the close of the January transfer window.
The Portuguese manager had planned to move for Cuadrado in the summer, with a right-sided forward having been identified as a necessary addition, but the potential switch has now been moved forward to this month.
Salah is a target for Roma, while Wolfsburg and Borussia Dortmund are set to go head-to-head over Schurrle, with both players having struggled for form so far this season. The Egyptian has found it particularly hard going, having made just seven appearances this term.
Fiorentina are desperate to keep hold of their prize asset, who started in Wednesday’s game against Atlanta, but his contract includes a £26.8m release clause which the Premier League leaders are willing to meet.
