Chelsea are set to open talks with Queens Park Rangers striker Loic Remy after learning that their move for Roma’s Mattia Destro hit the rocks, according to the Metro.

The Blues are desperate to bag another forward in the coming days with Fernando Torres set to join AC Milan and Diego Costa out injured with a troublesome hamstring issue.
Chelsea had expressed a keen interest in landing Destro, following the Italian international’s great form last term, but Roma have since stated that he is not for sale.
However, reports in the Daily Express now suggest that Jose Mourinho is ready to make a move for QPR’s highly-rated star as a replacement.
Remy recently saw an £8.5 million move to Liverpool fall through after a reported failed medical, but that has not been enough to put off Chelsea, who will move ahead with a move for the France international before Monday’s transfer deadline.
Remy has a buy-out clause in his contract but Jose Mourinho could get him cheaper if the player tries to force a move across west London.
