Eliaquim Mangala and Marco van Ginkel top of Mourinho’s radar in potential double signing.
Jose Mourinho is planning an audacious bid to sign two promising youngsters this summer, as he attempts to bring in Eliaquim Mangala and Marco van Ginkel as part of a double swoop for the Premier League side, according to the Daily Star.
Mangala has impressed for current club Porto during their championship winning season for the side, and former manager Mourinho is looking to use his connections at the club to bring the French defender to Stamford Bridge.
The 22-year old was high on Sir Alex Ferguson’s radar at Manchester United before retiring, and Mourinho looks set to steal the dominating centre half away from the Premier League champions by making a £20m offer for the youngster.
Another player on Jose’s radar is Marco van Ginkel from Dutch side Vitesse, who is currently away on international duty with the Dutch under-21 squad.
The 20-year old midfielder scored eight goals and contributed 10 assists to the team this season, and could prove to be another talented midfielder to play alongside Oscar, Mata and Hazard at Stamford Bridge.
Valued by the club at £8m, this would see a large sum of Chelsea’s transfer budget to two young stars, signalling a long-term plan by the club to build for the future.
