The Blues almost made hard work of it after a Charlie Adam wonder goal, struck almost ten yards into his own half, had Thibaut Courtois scrambling in goal and cancelled out Eden Hazard’s earlier penalty kick.
But Hazard was on hand in the second half to provide a beautiful assist to set up the simplest of finishes for Loic Remy who sealed the three points for Jose Mourinho’s side.
Here are our player ratings for the Premier League champions-elect:
GK: Thibaut Courtois – 7
Beaten by an opportunistic and unexpected effort from Charlie Adam that you could argue he could have done better for but had little else to do all match.
RB: Branislav Ivanovic – 6
As solid and robust as you’d expect and even came close to scoring himself but was denied by Begovic.
