Another win as the title favourites go four points clear…
Chelsea player ratings:
- 01 Petr Cech – 6
The Czech stopper barely had anything to do in the first-half, but conceded late on the Baggies mounted pressure on his goal.
- 02 Branislav Ivanovic – 6
Scored his second crucial goal of February, and was as solid as the back as he was prominent in attack – right until the last 15 minutes when West Brom began to mount pressure, and he didn’t close down Berahino for West Brom’s goal.
- 24 Gary Cahill – 6
Picked up an injury late on, but battled on and made a crucial last ditch block when Victor Anichebe was through on goal with the teams level.
- 04 David Luiz – 5
Composed in possession at the back, and enjoy stepping up into in midfield. Questions will be asked though as Anichebe beat him in the air to equalise.
- 28 Cesar Azpilicueta – 6
Relatively untroubled, and the cross for West Brom’s goal didn’t come from his flank. Didn’t provide much support in attack however.
- 21 Nemanja Matic – 7
Provided an excellent platform from which his teammates could perform. His January signing is proving to be a master-stroke, but he was booked late on for a clumsy challenge.
- 07 Ramires – 6
Booed relentlessly for the Baggies faithful because of his dive earlier in the season in the reverse fixture, but didn’t let it bother him as he put in a typically combative shift.
- 21 Willian – 7
Very lively, and constantly looked to pick the ball up and drive into space in front of him. Didn’t neglect his defensive duties either. Chelsea’s best player on the night.
- 11 Oscar – 5
Poor, to be fair. Hardly created anything on the final third, and wasted his chances to provide good balls into the box.
- 17 Eden Hazard – 6
Not as his scintillating best, that has seen many establish him as the best winger in the league in recent weeks. Rarely gave the ball away though, and passed the ball well.
- 29 Samuel Eto’o – 5
Worked hard, but wasn’t clinical in front of goal. His replacement Fernando Torres did very little either.
