ST: Diego Costa – 5/10
The Spain international’s confidence appears shot. He had six Premier League goals at this stage last season, but, when openings came his way today, his touch was poor and he looked indecisive.
Substitutes
Kenedy – 6/10
Mourinho’s surprisingly turned to the 19-year-old forward off the bench first, and he looked bright on his Premier League debut, but could not make the most of his devilishly quick feet in dangerous areas.
Radamel Falcao – 5/10
Came on to partner Costa with 25 minutes left – a partnership which yielded plenty of goals in their Atletico Madrid days. Had a great headed chance which he miscued when the Blues were 3-1 down.
Willian – 5/10
Should count himself unfortunate to be dropped when he is one of Chelsea’s most reliable performers, but the Brazilian did little in an attacking sense in his 16-minute cameo after replacing Fabregas.
