19. Demba Ba – 5
Was involved in lots of the game, but wasted any decent opportunities that came to him and perhaps Samuel Eto’o would have been a more useful addition in the No.9 role.
Substitutions:
17. Eden Hazard – 7
Injected the hosts with skill and creativity as soon as he was brought on for the second half and perhaps sent out a message to Mourinho after the manager criticised the Belgian midweek.
4. David Luiz – 6
Hit a fierce shot into the post and looked more purposeful in midfield than Lampard with a great range of passing on display from the Brazilian.
9. Fernando Torres – 5
Was thrown on to give the home team more attacking flair, but was slow to react when the ball came to him and blazed his only decent chance into row Z.
Jose Mourinho – 5
Team defended well as always, but dropping Hazard stifled his team’s creativity and once again they struggled in attack against the side with the worst away record in the entire division.
