Branislav Ivanovic – 7/10
Branislav Ivanovic was decent at the back, but surprisingly one of Chelsea’s best players going forward.
The right back had one shot on goal, but set up four shooting opportunities for his team-mates – the second most of any player in the Chelsea side.
Cesar Azpilicueta – 4/10
Cesar Azpilicueta needs new boots.
The Spanish right back playing on the left has been brilliant all season, but looked like Bambi on ice as he fell over on numerous occasions.
Two in particular stood out – one to send Adam Johnson through on goal, and another to allow Jozy Altidore to run down the right. Both times Azpilicueta got up quickly to try to recover possession, but while he was successful the first time, he was not the second, and gave away the penalty that ultimately provided the winner.
Nemanja Matic – 7/10
Nemanja Matic is such a colossal unit that it is incredibly hard to get around him.
The Serbian midfielder is not the quickest, but makes up for his lack of pace with a superb sense of positioning.
The only criticism one can have of Matic is that his attacking contribution is fairly minimal, though in theory that ought to allow the rest of the team to shine.
