David Luiz – 7/10
Though supposedly a centre back David Luiz was the more attacking of Chelsea’s two central midfielders as well as occasional bursts forward both through the middle into the channels.
While he didn’t always possess end product – and a horrendous free kick in a great position had the Blues fans groaning – he remained a useful outlet for his team who rarely wasted the ball.
Nemanja Matic – 9/10
Nemanja Matic has already demonstrated exactly why he was brought to Chelsea in the January transfer window – even if it cost the west London club a great deal of money to bring him back to the club.
The massive Serbian is one of the few players in the world capable of outmuscling Yaya Toure, and showed real class in his defensive midfield role, breaking up play intelligently and beginning his own team’s attacks.
A thunderous shot against the bar from range illustrated there may be an undiscovered goal threat to come.
Ramires – 7/10
Ramires played a typical game – he was all over the pitch, made some fantastic runs off the ball, and showed real dynamism in the Blues’ pressing game.
However, his poise in the final third occasionally let him down, and wasted a shot when Chelsea had a four on one opportunity.
