The Colombian international has not been at his best since making the season-long loan move to Old Trafford last summer, scoring just four goals in his spell in English football so far.
Falcao has previously been regarded as one of the best players in the world after impressing at Atletico Madrid, and his reputation still seems to be making him a top target for Europe’s big clubs as Chelsea join the running for his signature.
The 29-year-old could cost around £25.1m, with the Blues supposedly ready to let Loic Remy leave Stamford Bridge if they make a new signing upfront, according to the Metro.
Chelsea could do with more options in attack with a lack of quality backup to the injury-prone pairing of Remy and first-choice front-man Diego Costa.
