Chelsea is reportedly planning to make a £7.1 million transfer bid for Stuttgart defender Antonio Rudiger.
According to the Metro, Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho – fresh off winning the Premier League Championship this past week – is very interested in Rudiger along with a variety of other clubs from around Europe.
Rudger emerged as one of the fastest rising stars in Germany back in 2013 and is currently getting looks from a variety teams eager to invest in the young stud. At age 22, Rudiger has played just one professional season with more than 20 appearances, but made the most of them with Stuttgart over the last two seasons. With such little tread on his tires at his age, whichever team lands Rudiger could have a successful star for a number of years.
Rudiger has played for Stuttgart since 2011 but has a buyout clause in his contract that would allow him to leave Germany at the end of the season, according to a report from the Bundesliga club.
