Blues set to embark on a major squad overhaul this summer.
Champions League holders Chelsea are believed to be one of a number of clubs currently monitoring the progress of young Ajax midfield player Viktor Fischer, according to reports in the Daily Express.
The West London giants are already preparing for next season, even though they are still to decide who exactly will be taking over from current ‘interim’ head coach Rafa Benitez when the campaign draws to a close next month.
And part of those plans involve the introduction of a number of new faces at Stamford Bridge, and particularly younger ones, to take over from the club’s older players, with Fischer being one such possible new recruit.
The 18-year-old player, who operates on the left side of midfield, has only been with the Eredivisie champions for one year, however, during that time Fischer has been called up to the senior Denmark national side, who he has now represented on two occasions in the past 12 months.
