Chelsea begin their 2013-14 Premier League fixtures by hosting Hull City, but soon travel to face David Moyes’ Manchester United at Old Trafford.
Chelsea’s 2013-14 Premier League fixtures begin in somewhat easy fashion – at least on paper.
Jose Mourinho’s second debut for the Stamford Bridge club will be to host Premier League new boys Hull City, who will of course want to put on a show upon promotion but will not be expected to match the might of the Blues at Stamford Bridge.
However, the going soon gets tough, with Chelsea’s second game against a David Moyes managed Manchester United. Both coaches will want to lay down an early marker in the Premier League title race, and matches such as these could represent a good early indicator of form.
A tough Christmas period for Chelsea includes games against Arsenal and Liverpool within the space of a week, before meeting Manchester United and Manchester City in the new year.
Jose Mourinho won the Premier League title on his first attempt when he first took over as Chelsea manager.
The world will be watching to see if he can do it again.
