Chelsea could make a late attempt to snare Barcelona winger Pedro away from the grasp of Manchester United, according to reports.
Pedro has been heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford, and while the Red Devils remain favourites to sign the Spanish international, The Daily Mail reports the Blues are ready to make a late bid for the player.
Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho is keen to bolster his attack after a poor start to the season, and the report suggests Blues owner Roman Abramovich is keen on bringing Pedro to Stamford Bridge.
It is understood Pedro is aware of the personal terms being presented by United, however the Premier League giants have yet to agree to match the 28-year-old’s £22m buyout clause.
The longer negotiations drag on, the more it will allow Chelsea to join in on the chase for the player.
According to the report, United executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward is confident a deal can be agreed after the ‘structure of payments’ is finalised.
